Shiatsu for health, wellbeing and vitality
![]() | About meI am an advanced Shiatsu student studying at the Bath School of Shiatsu and Yoga. I was introduced to Shiatsu in 2007 and have been hooked ever since! I am drawn to Shiatsu for its holistic approach and the fact that the client and is invited to participate in their own healing process. For my own wellbeing and to develop my Shiatsu practice, I regularly practise yoga, mindfulness and meditation, and of course receive plenty of Shiatsu. About ShiatsuA traditional hands-on Japanese healing art, Shiatsu can be helpful for a wide
range of conditions from specific injuries to more general symptoms of
poor health. Shiatsu is a deeply relaxing experience and regular sessions help to prevent the build-up of stress in our lives. We all respond to touch, something which is once again being recognised. Shiatsu works on the whole person - not just on the physical body; it also works from a psychological and emotional point of view. Your ShiatsuDuring the Shiatsu, you remain fully clothed and lie on a futon at floor level. I will treat your whole body using finger or palm pressure as well as using knees, elbows and feet. I will also perform gentle stretching and rotation of your joints and limbs.Treatments are tailored to your needs and will therefore vary from client to client and from session to session. Clients often report some benefit after the initial treatment however sometimes a course of between 5-10 sessions are needed to gain maximum benefit as often there can be underlying causes for symptoms which may not always be apparent during the first treatment. When coming for a treatment, please wear loose,
comfortable and warm clothes and avoid eating a heavy meal in the 2 hours prior to the session. |
Cost
Sessions last approximately an hour, which includes some
time for discussion, and cost £20 (concessionary rates are available for those on
a low income, full-time students and block bookings).
Testimonials
"Sarah's Shiatsu felt very sensitive and very appropriate for how me and my body felt. She has a wonderful, caring and
very grounded way of being, which shows in the shiatsu you receive. She
was open and receptive not just to what I said verbally, but also what
my body was saying. Sarah has a wonderful healing way and I certainly
felt the benefits, I left feeling more able to deal with a pretty
emotionally difficult stage of my life and I am so grateful for it.
Sarah was very able to consider what was right for me, and left me
feeling more balanced and more grounded after each Shiatsu- I felt very
cared for!" - Zoe, Clinical PsychologistMake an appointment
